About First English Lutheran Church

FELC has a seat saved for you! We would love to show you all of the many reasons why so many of your neighbors call our church their family. We offer a place for people of all backgrounds to receive healing, help, and hope. Our goal is to provide our community with a place where they feel comforted by the love of Christ.

Who We Are

  • A vibrant and diverse community of believers, journeying together in discipleship
  • A historic, downtown congregation with roots that stretch back to 1832
  • A gathering of Christians grounded in Lutheran traditions
  • A family of believers striving to be disciples for Jesus Christ

Our Rich Heritage

Since 1832, First English Lutheran Church has been a steadfast presence in our community, serving as a beacon of faith and hope for generations.

Our Name's Story Our name reflects a decision the congregation made in 1850 to change their language of worship from German to English, making it the first English-speaking Lutheran church in the area.
