Ministries of FELC

  • Monthly Produce Distribution (April – November, Second Tuesday) – A team of volunteers meets to prepare produce supplied by The Greater Cleveland Food Bank. This distribution reaches about 150 families per month.
  • Communion for Shut-Ins – A number of communion deacons regularly take communion to our shut-ins. Once every month, communion deacons visit local nursing homes and offer communion during a brief worship service.
  • Daily Bread Meals – Meals are provided for those who have just been released from the hospital.
  • Funeral Dinners – Funeral meals are provided for grieving families. Members donate salads, casseroles, and desserts for these meals while the main dish is provided by the Women’s Ministry Group.
  • Prayer Chain – The prayer chain is set in motion when someone requests prayer for themselves or another person.
  • Christmas Cookie Packing for Shut-ins – Cookies are baked by church members and packed for the shut-ins of our church. They are then delivered by our Communion Deacons and our shut-in visitors.
  • In February, the Women’s Bible Study sends out Valentine cards and gifts to our college students.
  • In May, we give each high school graduate a hand-made quilt as well as another nice gift from Women’s Ministry to honor their graduation.
  • During the season of Epiphany, we observe a Thank Offering Sunday, which directs designated donations to a special project determined annually.
  • Parenting Project for Young Children – Educational material is mailed out to new parents, beginning when the child is born and continuing until the child is three years old.
  • Stamps Project – Postage stamps are collected, packaged and mailed to New York where they are used to provide occupational therapy to improve the lives of handicapped persons throughout the world.
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – People who enjoy crocheting and knitting gather regularly to make prayer shawls for people facing health issues, grief, or celebrating a birth!
  • Workday Ladies Quilting Group – Activities include cutting squares for quilts, sewing quilt tops together, stretching and knotting the quilts. We also make lap robes which are distributed to local nursing homes. We give a lovely quilt to each of our graduating High School Seniors.
